* CALL OUT* Friday 31st January 2024

At 18.30 SARDA were called out by the police to search for a missing female in the East of the island. Jim Macgregor and trailing dog Ruby  with Mal Stewart and Marc Marshall navigating were enroute to the RV when the person was located and the team stood down.

 

* CALL OUT* Friday 19th January 2024

While traveling down from Heysham towards Cheshire, SARDA IOM were called out by Greater Manchester Police to search for a 14 year old missing boy in the Hale area.  Jim MacGregor with trailing dog Ruby and Gary Wright and Will Heap navigating arrived at the scene at 3.30am. 

After a debrief from GM Police the team set off  on a trail from an address last seen. After a strong positive trail to the River Bollin area the team continued to check other potential routes. After passing on the information the team stood down at 5.30am and traveled to set up the trails for a search dog assessment later that day.

Tragically later that day the missing boy was located in the River Bollin by GM Police. 

SARDA IOM would like to pass on their sincere condolences to the family of the boy. 

* CALL OUT* Wednesday 3rd January 2024

At 4.22 SARDA were called out by the police to search for a missing male in the South of the island. Jim Macgregor and Ruby arrived at the RV to be met with Mal Stewart who was navigating.  After an initial briefing and sourcing of a scent item Ruby carried out trails from the point last seen.  The trails ran out and after 2.5 hours searching the team stood down alongside Civil Defence.  Soon after a message was sent out that he had been located.

Wednesday 27th September

At 18.00 SARDA were called out by the police to search for a missing female in the North of the island. Jim Macgregor and trailing dog Ruby  with Will Heap and Jeremey Theobald navigating were enroute to the RV when the person was located and the team stood down.

Monday 18th & Tuesday 19th & Thursday 21st September

**Call out**

At 18.30 SARDA were called out by the police to search for a missing male in the North of the island. Jim Macgregor and trailing dog Ruby  with Marc Marshall navigating and Ffinlo Williams in support started with a trail from the home address.  With some strong trails and a direction of travel the team stood down at 22.00.

 The following day at 11.00am Jim and Ruby with Will Heap navigating joined a multi agency search including IOM Coastguard, Civil Defence, IOM Police and Fire & Rescue Service.  Trails were repeated in the same area and supported with foot teams in the same area.  The team stood down at 15.00 with operations ongoing.

On Thursday Jim and Ruby with Marc Marshall navigating were called out again due to further information but were stood down while walking into the area.

At this time enquiries are on going.

 

Wednesday 30th –  August  **Call Out**      Dog Team Locate
On Wednesday 30th August – trailing dog Ruby with handler Jim and Will Heap and Mal Stewart navigating were called out at 10.30am. The team trailed from a last location in the South of the island for a missing person.  Ruby had a strong trail for around 1.5 hours until she ran out of scent.  After a short rest Ruby covered a bit more a of a trail.
       As the team were relocating to a new location the missing person was spotted by the dog team and were stood down by the police.
 
Sunday 19th March
* CALL OUT*
At 3.42 SARDA were called out by the police to search for a missing male in the East of the island. Jim Macgregor and Ruby arrived and were waiting at the RV while Marc, Will and Olivia were travelling to the RV as navigators when the call came through that he had been located and the team stood down.
 
Friday 10th March
**CALLOUT – Multi Agency Search**
On Friday 10th of March at 11:20am, police requested a dog team to search for a missing person in the East of the island. Dog handler Jim MacGregor and trailing dog Ruby, with navigator Marc Marshall attended the RV point and were briefed by police. After several trails lead to a specific location, a specialist Fire Search & Rescue Team were called in to assist with the search. At 15:30pm the team stood down as the misper was located safe and well outside the search area.

Friday 20th January & Sunday 22nd January     

**Callout**  DOG  FIND **.  On Sunday 22nd of January, dog handler Jim MacGregor and trailing dog Ruby, with navigator Marc Marshall located a missing person during a search operation. Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.

Sunday 30th –  October

**CALLOUT**   At 1.24 am on Sunday 30th October, SARDA IOM were called out by the Isle of Man Police to assist with a search for a lady who was missing North of Douglas. Dog Handler Jim Macgregor with trailing dog Ruby and navigator Will Heap were deployed along with Jo Kenny and her air scenting dog Brock with navigator Stuart Kenny, both of NSARDA Kent. Marc Marshall of SARDA IOM assisted as navigator too alongside Jo and Stuart. Jo and Stuart are currently on Island as external assessors for an assessment held over the weekend.

All dog teams, including the IOM police dog unit identified an area of interest. IOM Coastguard, Ramsey Lifeboat and HM Coastguard Search & Rescue helicopter based at Caernarfon were all deployed. All teams were stood down at 5.30am.

A follow up search and redeployment of the HM Coastguard helicopter by Isle of Man Police located a body later that morning.

SARDA IOM’s thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time. As per the police statement yesterday, we would ask that the privacy of the family is respected at this time.

Monday 3rd –  October

**CALL OUT**. At 12.05am on Monday 3rd October SARDA IOM were called out by the Isle of Man Police following an RTC in Douglas.  The team of Jim Macgregor and Ruby, Marc Marshall and Matt and Gary Wright navigating were briefed of concerns for the male who could be injured.  Due to the urban nature of the call out Ruby trailed through the city centre with Matt dog on standby.  Mal Stewart also joined the team on the way as an additional navigator.  Ruby had a positive trail through the centre for around a 2km which was confirmed by CCTV but ran out of scent.  The team decided to stand down at 2.05am after running out with further enquiries still being made.

Friday 15th – 17th July

**Callout**.  Day 1 At 19.39 on 15th July The dog teams were called out for a missing male from the East of the island.  Jim Macgregor with trailing dog ruby along with Marc Marshall, Charlie Heap and Ffinlo Williams with police in support trailed from the home address in Douglas through the city centre to the bus station.  The trail was after 24 hours.  It was confirmed the missing person had walked this route and caught the bus.  After further information the team were redeployed to Foxdale and trailed up and into South Barrule planation.  Matt dog with Marc and Ffinlo navigating then searched the woodland and Ruby with Jim and Charlie navigating, tested out a few more trails with negatives, highlighting the person had not proceeded in that direction.  The team stood down at 3.30am and returned home for 4.00am (16th July).

Day 2. At 11.00am on 16th July with further information the team collected a new scent article and proceeded to South Barrule plantation and completed further trails and search areas with Matt and Ruby and the addition of new trainee navigators Olivia Crowe and Ben Scott aided by Rory Murphy.  At 16.00 hours Gary Wright searched areas with Holly and the teams stood down at 21.00.

Day 3. At 9.30am on 17th July teams were getting briefed at South Barrule when a member of the public found the male close by and the other search teams involved including Fire Service, Isle of Man Coastguard, Civil Defence and the Police all aided in evacuating the casualty to a nearby ambulance where the male was taken to hospital responsive.  A massive team effort by all in the inland search and rescue team on the island.

Monday 9th May

**CALL OUT** at 21:35 Police requested dog teams to deploy to an area on the West of the island. Dog handlers Marc and Gary with search dogs Matt and Holly and navigators Jim, Rory and Mal attended the call. The teams were en route when the call came in to stand down as the missing person had been located.

Saturday 30th April

At 2.12am SARDA IOM were called out by Isle of Man Police to search for a missing female in the East of the island.  Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and Jim Macgregor navigating searched the beach and some surrounding buildings.  Gary Wright and search dog Holly with Will Heap navigating were tasked with searching areas of Douglas Head and Marine Drive.  The search also involved Isle of Man Coastguard, Douglas Lifeboat and the Coastguard helicopter from Caernarfon.  The teams were stood down at 4.30am when the female was spotted and Isle of Man Coastguard carried out a rope rescue on cliffs outside our search area.

Saturday 19th February

**CALL OUT** at 11:58 police requested dog teams to attend Black Hut for a missing hill runner who had fallen and sustained injuries. Dog handler Marc with search dog Matt and Dog handler Gary with search dog Holly where about to deploy in the Land Rover and head up the mountain in snowy conditions when the call came through that the missing runner had been located.

Saturday 29th January

**CALL OUT**  At 21.00 dog teams were called out by police to a high risk missing person in the East of the island. Dog handler Marc with search dog Matt and Will Heap Navigating, dog handler Gary with search dog Holly and navigator Ffinlo Williams has been debriefed and were enroute to their search areas when the call came in that the missing person had been located. The teams were stood down at 21.45.

Tuesday 24th August

**CALL OUT**  At 15:53 dog teams were called out by police to a high risk missing person in the East of the island. Dog handler Marc with search dog Matt, dog handler Gary with search dog Holly and navigators Will and Mal were heading to the RV point when the call came in that the missing person had been located. The team was stood down.

Friday 20th August

* Call out * At 3.38am SARDA were called out by the Police to search for a missing male in the East of the island.  Gary Wright and Holly alongside Marc Marshall with Matt, Jim MacGregor with Ruby & Rory Murphy, Mal Stewart, Will Heap & Charlie Marshall as navigators were enroute to the RV point when the missing male was located by the police close to his point last seen and the teams stood down at 4.01am.

Sunday 15th August

* Call out * At 18.38 SARDA were called out by the Police to search for a missing Male in the East of the island.  Gary Wright and Holly deployed with Charlie Heap and Rory Murphy navigating alongside Marc Marshall with Matt and with Will Heap and Mal Stewart navigating.  Extremely overgrown rough terrain and service yards were searched.  At 21.00hrs Jim MacGregor with Ruby with Rory and Mal navigating started a trail from the last location and provided a new direction of travel which showed a new area of interest that Holly and Matt searched.  Nothing was found and the team stood down at 23.30 with further Police enquiries ongoing.  Update: The missing person has since been located by the police safe and well.

Saturday 31st July

**Call out** At 4.08am SARDA IOM were called out by the Police to the South of the island to search for a missing person.  Jim Macgregor and trailing dog Ruby, Marc Marshal and search dog Matt with navigator Will Heap arrived at the home address.  Jim, with Ruby and Will Navigating, commenced a trail away from the property.  This lead to open ground where Marc and Matt had just started to search when the missing person returned to the home address and the teams stood down at 5.38am.

Sunday 11th July

**Call out **  At 12.14 SARDA were called out to search in the North of the island for a missing lady.  Jim Macgregor & search dog Ruby, Marc Marshall & search dog Matt and navigator Graham Steele were enroute to the North of the island when the misper was located by Police and the teams stood down.

Friday 2nd July

**CALL OUT** at 0207  SARDA was called to assist Police and Coastguard in the search for a gentleman who had gone missing from his home in the South of the Island. Dog handler Jim and trailing dog Ruby accompanied by dog handler Gary and navigator Ffinlo followed several trails surrounding the residence but had difficulty distinguishing the exact location of travel. Meanwhile dog handler Marc with air scenting dog Matt and navigator Will searched gardens and open areas in the vicinity. Once Ruby had exhausted the trails in the area dog handler Gary and air scenting dog Holly, accompanied by dog handler Jim and navigator Ffinlo started searching the wider area from the residence when word came in that a member of the public had found the gentleman healthy and well. The teams stood down at 0436.

Friday 27th November

**CALL OUT** at 19.25 we were requested to deploy to the West of the island to search for a missing male. Dog handlers Jim Macgregor with Ruby and Marc Marshall with Matt along with our navigators: Ffinlo Williams, Mal Stewart, Rory Murphy & Charlie Heap were deployed.  Numerous urban areas and trails were carried out working along side the Isle of Man Police and the Isle of Man Coastguard.  After over 3 hours of searching the teams stood down at 23.30.  Shortly after the Male was located by the Police.

Saturday 21st November

**CALL OUT** at 14:27 we were requested to deploy to the south of the island to search for a young girl. Dog handlers Jim Macgregor and Marc Marshall had just started setting up the SARDA stall for the Ramsey Christmas light switch on when the call came in. Ramsey Town Commissioner’s staff very kindly offered to look after our stall whilst we attended the call out. Navigator Mal Stewart was already en route to the RV point. As both dog handlers were heading to the dog van the call came in to stand down as the missing person had been located. The team then returned to the stall. All three dogs got lots of cuddles from everyone who came to visit us. A huge thank you to the Ramsey Town Commissioners for the pitch and to everyone who took the time to see us and donate.

 

Sunday 1st November

**Callout**  DOG  FIND **
Today at 12:55am SARDA was called out to search for a missing 14 year old girl in the centre of the island. Jim Macgregor (handler) with trailing dog Ruby and Mal Stewart navigating with police in close support started the trail from the point last seen.  After a short trail Ruby took the team into some gardens and found the missing girl, cold but ok and were stood down.

Monday 26th October

**Callout**
Today at 18:36 SARDA was called out to search for a missing male in the south of the island. Dog handlers Marc Marshall and Gary Wright with search dogs Matt and Holly and navigators Mal Stewart and Charlie Heap were tasked to search from both ends of Scarlett Point while dog handler Jim MacGregor with trailing dog Ruby and navigators Ffinlo Williams and Rory Murphy identified a direction of travel from the misper’s last known location. Ruby had identified and was following the misper’s trail, when news came in that he had been found.

Sunday 23rd August

**Call out**
On Sunday 23rd August at 7.29 SARDA IOM were called out to assist the Police in the West of the island to search for a person missing following an RTC. Initially Jim Macgregor and trailing dog Ruby with Navigator Rory Murphy were at the scene trying to obtain a scent item. Further resources were called for with Gary and search dog Holly, with Ffinlo Williams navigating and Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigators Charlie Heap and Jody Smith. The teams searched the immediate area as a trail was identified and further areas as new information became available. Upon beginning in a new location Jim and Rory with two police officers assisted in locating the missing person and SARDA teams were stood down for a debrief at Police HQ.

Wednesday 19th August

**Call out**  At 16.10 SARDA IOM were called out to assist the Police in the West of the island to search for a person missing. Jim Macgregor and search dog Ruby, Marc Marshall and search dog Matt and Gary and search dog Holly along with navigators Ffinlo Williams and Jody Smith all arrived at the RV. Before being tasked where to search the missing person was located.

Sunday 16th August

**Call out**  At 12.56 SARDA IOM were called out to assist the Police in the North of the island to search for a person missing.  As Jim and search dog Ruby and Marc and search dog Matt were preparing to depart the team were stood down with the Misper located.

Tuesday 4th August

**Call out**  At 7.37 SARDA IOM were called out to assist the Police in the East of the island to search for a person missing.  Jim MacGregor and trailing dog Ruby with Mal Stewart as navigator were en-route to the RV when the misper was located by the Police.  With Gary and Search Dog Holly and Marc with Search Dog Matt on standby it was another team effort to provide 24/7 availability to the Isle of Man.

Friday 31st July

**Call out**  At 5.24 SARDA IOM were called out to assist the Police in the East of the island to search for a person following an RTA.  Gary Wright and search dog Holly with Ffinlo Williams navigating, Marc  Marshal and search dog Matt with a police officer navigating and Jim Macgregor with search dog Ruby and Mal Stewart navigating were tasked to search the immediate fields and surrounding area. After searching for over an hour the Person was located by the Police and the teams stood down.

Monday 6th July

**Call out**  At 19.17 SARDA IOM were called out to assist the Police in the South of the island to search for a missing lady.  Dog handlers Gary Wright with Holly, Jim Macgregor with Ruby and Marc Marshall with Matt along with our navigators Rory Murphy and Mal Stewart were at the RV when the police made contact out of the search area and the teams were stood down.

2019 (29 call outs)

Friday 29th November

**Call out**  At 04.00 SARDA IOM along with Coastguard, Civil Defence, IOM Fire and Rescue and the Police were called out to look for a missing girl in the South of the island.  With a broad area of interest to search Gary Wright and Holly with Marc Marshall navigating were deployed to an industrial area and searched extensively.  Jim Macgregor with ruby and Ffinlo Williams and Mal Stewart navigating were tasked with search school areas and a trail around a potential point last seen.  All teams were stood down at 07.00hrs and soon after the girl was found by the police.

Saturday 28th September

**Call out**  At 20.40 Sarda IOM were called out for a missing female in the South of the island.  Handler Jim MacGregor and trailing dog ruby were only just heading enroute when fortunately the lady was located and the team were stood down.

Saturday 14th September

**Call out** At 9.57am SARDA IOM were called out for a missing male in the Douglas area.  Jim Macgregor and trailing dog Ruby along with Mal Stewart navigating and two police officers set off on a trail from a point last seen.  Ruby trailed for a good distance over varied terrain but eventually ran out of scent and the team stood down at 11.50am  Later the Missing male was located.

Sunday 8th September

**Call out**   At 11.42 pm SARDA IOM were called out by the police to the East of the island to search for two missing children.  The team of Gary wright and search dog Holly with Jim Macgregor and search dog Ruby were tasked with a few areas.  Initially two open areas were search by Gary and Holly with Jim navigating.  An article was then used from one of the missing children and jim with Holly and Gary navigating started to trail. . Just after starting on the trail the two children turned up at an address and the team were stood down at 1.30am.

Tuesday 3rd September

**Call out**

At 3.40pm SARDA IOM were called out by the police to search for a missing male in the East of the island.  Jim Macgregor and search dog Ruby arrived at the RV and were getting briefed by the police and just about to commence a trail.  Meanwhile Gary Wright with search dog Holly were enroute when a message came through that the Police had located the misper and the teams were stood down.

Friday 23rd August

**CALL OUT**Dog find**

At 12.40pm SARDA IOM were called out, with a multiple agencies, to search for a missing female in the North of the Island.  On arriving at the RV, Jim Macgregor with trailing dog Ruby and Ffinlo Williams navigating starting trailing from the mispers vehicle.  Meanwhile Gary Wright and search dog Holly with Jody Smith navigating were being briefed on their search area.  Ruby trailed in the direction of travel and the team found the missing person, quickly concluding positively the search and were subsequently stood down.

Thursday 8th August

**CALL OUT**

At 6.06pm Search and Rescue Dogs, alongside Civil Defence were called out for 2 missing people in the East of the island.  Gary Wright and Holly were collecting information from the RV with Marc Marshall and Matt, Jim Macgregor and Ruby and navigators Ffinlo Williams and Charlie Heap were all heading enroute to the RV when reports came through that the misper had been located.

Sunday 4th August

**CALL OUT**

At 4.53pm on Sunday, the police requested SARDA IOM to search for a missing male in the East of the Island.  Jim Macgregor with trailing dog Ruby and Charlie Heap navigating alongside Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and Mal Stewart navigating were tasked to search a small area where the misper had last been seen.  Ruby had just started with a scent item and was searching for a trail when news came through that the misper had been located and the teams stood down.

Wednesday 31st July

**CALL OUT**

At 4.20 this afternoon, police requested the search dogs to look for a missing lady in the North of the island.  Gary Wright and search dog Holly with Ffinlo Williams navigating searched some of the Northern hills alongside IOM Coastguard, IOM Police and the Coastguard helicopter.  Jim MacGgregor and search dog Ruby with Marc Marshall and search dog Matt drove to different RV’s while the Mispers car was being located.  While enroute to a new RV fortunately the lady had been found by police and was airlifted from the location.

Monday 29th July

**CALL OUT**

At 4.02 this morning Police requested the search dogs to look for a missing lady in the East of the island.  Jim MacGgregor & trailing dog Ruby and Gary Wright with search dog Holly attended.  As the teams were meeting at the RV the good news came through that the lady had been located by the Police and the teams stood down.

Thursday 18th & Friday 19th July

**CALL OUT**Dog find**

On Thursday evening at 22.54, teams were tasked to assist in a search for a missing vulnerable lady in the north of the Island. Jim Macgregor with Trailing dog Ruby with Jody Smith navigating, along with Marc Marshall and search dog Matt all attended the search. The police assisted in navigating with Marc and Matt.

This was a multi-agency search including IOM Police, IOM fire & Rescue Service, Civil Defence & IOM Coastguard.  The Coastguard helicopter also joined the search later to sweep areas of interest.  Jim, Ruby and Jody completed several trails in the area from the mispers car and checked out other areas.  Marc, Matt and the police searched open areas in the immediate vicinity and specific areas of interest.  All teams were stood down at 04.30 on the Friday morning after interest but no success.

On Friday 19th July at 11.00am SARDA were re-tasked with searching an area of further interest after additional information had come through.  After the team gathered specific intelligence and further information on the local area Marc Marshall and Search dog Matt with Mal Stewart and Jim Macgregor searched an area and found the lady unfortunately deceased.

SARDA IOM would like to extend their condolences to the lady’s family at this very sad time.

Sunday 30th June 18.25

**CALL OUT**Navigator find**

At 18.25 last night (Sunday) police requested dog teams to search the central hills for a missing person. Navigator Mal Stewart was enroute and handler Marc Marshall was searching an area of woodland with search dog Matt. Also ready to deploy was handler Jim Macgregor with trailing dog Ruby and navigator Jody Smith. While waiting for a scent item from the police at the misper’s vehicle, Navigator Jody Smith spotted the misper nearby. This was passed on to the police and SARDA assisted in approaching the misper.

Tuesday 18th June 16.48

**CALL OUT** at 16:48 police requested dog teams to search multiple areas in the west of the island. Gary Wright with search dog Holly and navigator Charlie Heap, dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigators Jody Smith and Ffinlo Williams and dog handler Jim Macgregor with trailing search dog Ruby attended the call.

Ruby picked up from the point last seen but could not find a strong positive trail after indicating at the vehicle.  Meanwhile multiple areas were tasked to the air scenting dogs who had started searching when news came in that the missing person had been located.

Monday 10th June 11.39

**CALL OUT** at 11:39 this morning police requested dog teams to join in a multi agency search and work multiple areas in the south of the island. Dog handler Jim Macgregor with trailing search dog Ruby, dog handler Gary Wright with search dog Holly and a member from Iom Coastguard and dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigator Ffinlo Williams attended the call. The two open area search dogs were tasked to search multiple areas of headlands.

Trailing dog Ruby with her handler had a positive trail to the waters edge. This was repeated to secure a confirmation.  The police then focused their search in and around the water and subsequently the RNLI located a body. The team at SARDA IOM would like to pass on their condolences to the family at this sad and difficult time.

Sunday 9th June 17.34

**CALL OUT** at 17:34 police requested dog teams to search an area in the west of the island. Dog handler Gary Wright with search dog Holly and navigator Mal Stewart and dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigator Jody Smith responded to the call. Once on scene dog handlers were preparing their kit when the call came in to confirm the missing person had been located.

Saturday 1st June 00.15

**CALL OUT** at 00:15 police requested dog teams to search areas in the east of the island for a high risk missing person. Dog handler Jim Macgregor with trailing search dog Ruby and navigator Jody Smith and dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigator Ffinlo Williams attended the call. Once on scene dog handlers were talking with police and getting a plan together to search multiple areas when news came in that the missing person had been located.

Friday 31st May 16.22

**CALL OUT** at 16:22 police requested dog teams to search areas in the east of the island for a high risk misper. Dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigator Ffinlo Williams, dog handler Gary Wright with search dog Holly and dog handler Jim Macgregor with trailing search dog Ruby attended the call. After going to two RV points news came in that the missing person had been located.

Sunday 26th May 20.09

** CALL OUT** at 20:09 police requested dog teams to search areas in the east of the island for a high risk misper. Search dog Holly with dog handler Gary Wright, trailing search dog Ruby with handler Jim Macgregor and navigator Jody Smith and Search dog Matt with handler Marc Marshall attended the call. Search dog Holly and search dog Matt searched numerous large, open areas whilst trailing search dog Ruby had a positive trail. With a direction of travel from Ruby police were able to allocate resources ahead and located the misper.

Thursday 23rd May 00.45

**Call out**  Jim Macgregor with Ruby, Gary Wright with Holly, Marc Marshall with Matt and Mal Stewart, Charlie Heap & Ffinnlo Williams navigating were called out by the police to search for a missing 15yr old boy from his home address in the East of the island. Ruby was just getting a direction of travel before Holly and Matt started searching areas when the boy was located close by and the teams stood down at 13.30.

Friday 3rd May 23.00

**CALL OUT** Jim Macgregor with Ruby and Navigator Charlie Heap were called out by the Police at 23.00 to search for a missing child in the South of the island.  After receiving a scent article from the home address the team followed a trail at 23.55 for 1.5 hours until a new siting of the misper was reported.  After a short break the team started a new trail and stood down at 2.40am.  Later the misper was located by police.

Sunday 21st April 7.44pm

After multiple areas searched the teams were stood down.

**CALL OUT** At 22:52 police requested dog teams to assist in a search in the north of the island. Search dog Matt with handler Marc Marshall and trailing search dog Ruby with handler Jim Macgregor and navigator Charlie Heap attended the call. Whilst on route news came in that the missing person had been located and the teams stood down.

Monday 8th April 11.00pm

At 23.00 hrs the search dogs were called out to assist the police in the North of the island for a missing person.  Jim MacGregor with Trailing dog Ruby and Joedy Smith and Ffinnlo Williams navigating were briefed by the police.  Meanwhile Gary Wright and Search dog Holly were enroute to the RV.  A scent item was obtained and Ruby was at the place last scene ready to trail when a message came through that the missing person was near the houses.  Jim Macgregor assisted the police in locating the gentleman and the team were stood down.  All of this just an hour after Jim and Ruby had just got off the boat after successfully completing a 12 hour trail in Portishead earlier in the day.

** CALL OUT** at 02:09 this morning police requested a dog team to search areas in the North of the island. Search dog Matt with his handler Marc Marshall and navigators Jody Smith and Ffinlo Williams attended the call. After several areas searched the team were stood down at 05:00 pending further inquiries.

**CALL OUT** at 03:16 this morning the team were called out to search for a high risk misper in the East of the island. Dog handler Jim Macgregor with trailing search dog Ruby and dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt responded to the call. Both teams were heading to the RV point when news came in that the misper had been located.

**CALL OUT** at 12:53 police requested a dog team to help search areas in the east of the island. Dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigator Ffinlo Williams attended the call. After searching an area news came in that the misper had been located by police. Team stood down at 2am.

Thursday 24th January 6.20pm

Police requested dog teams to search areas in the east of the island. Dog handler Gary Wright with search dog Holly and navigator Jody Smith and dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigator Ffinlo Williams attended the call. The handlers put a plan together to search two separate areas. One team deployed and searched for around 7 minutes when the call came in to stand down.

**CALL OUT** at 19:25 one dog team was deployed in a multi agency search for a missing person in the west of the island. Dog handler Gary Wright with search dog Holly and navigator Ffinlo Williams attended the call. After searching an area, news came in that the misper had been located by a Coastguard rescue team.

**CALL OUT** At 4pm IOM police called out SARDA IOM to search some fields in the East of the Island.  Gary Wright and Holly with Mal Stewart navigating were just enroute when the a call came through to say the Missing person has been located nearby.

Monday 3rd December 2.15am

**CALL OUT** At 2.15 IOM Police called out SARDA and IOM Coastguard to search a beach in the North of the Island for a missing female.  Marc Marshall and Matt, Jim Macgregor and Star with Charlie Heap navigating had just set off when Police called to say she had been located.

Sunday 25th November 9.30pm

**CALL OUT** At 21.30 IOM Police called out SARDA, IOM Coastguard and Civil Defence to search for a missing female in the North of the island.  Gary Wright and Holly with Charlie Heap navigating, Jim MacGregor and star with Jodies Smith navigating and Marc Marshall and Matt supported by IOM Coastguard were tasked with various beaches, fields and plantations.  After a couple of hours searching IOM Coastguard located the female and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Once on scene at the RV point news came in that the Misper had been located. All teams were stood down.

Wednesday 14th November 23.35am 

**CALL OUT **DOG FIND**

At 23:35 police requested dog teams to deploy to search for a high risk misper. Dog handler Jim Macgregor with search dog Star and navigator Jody Smith, dog handler Gary Wright with search dog Holly and navigator Mal Stewart and dog handler Marc Marshall with search dog Matt and navigator Ffinlo Williams attend the call.
After several areas searched, Search dog Matt found the missing person. Handler Marc and navigator Ffinlo administered first aid and a coastguard rescue team used their basket stretch to carry the casualty to the Ambulance.

Great team work by all involved, from the police and ESJCR coordinating the search and teams, SARDA in locating the person and the Coastguard assisting in the search and carrying the casualty out as well as the ambulance crew for treating the patient.

Sunday 11th November 1.30am

A call was made to the SARDA team requesting assistance for a vulnerable female in the North of the Island.  Marc Marshall and Matt, Jim Macgregor and star with Ffinlo Williams  and Mal Stewart navigating had just met at the RV where the female was located by police.  Marc in his role as first responder then treated the casualty until paramedics arrived and the team stood down.

The Police requested a SARDA to deploy to the South of the Island to search for a young male.  Jim Macgregor and search dog Star were en route when they were stood down after the Police located the male.

**CALL OUT** **DOG FIND**

Police placed the 3 dog teams (Jim Macgregor & Star, Gary Wright & Holly and Marc Marshall & Matt with Charlie Heap navigating) on standby while looking for further info to identify search areas for a missing person in South Douglas.  Reports came through from the Police of an area of interest and Jim Macgregor with Search dog Star located the missing person.  The Police and Civil defence along with SARDA IOM then evacuated the casualty to a nearby road where Marc who is a first responder assisted with administering first aid.  The person was then transferred by ambulance to hospital.

After reports of a missing vulnerable person Gary Wright and Holly, Jim Macgregor and Star  and Marc Marshall and Matt were deployed to meet at ramsey alongside the Police and civil Defence.  The teams arrived at the RV just as the person was located by the Police.

Saturday 25th August 3.15am

The police requested the Search Dogs to cover an area in the north of the island.  Gary Wright and Holly with Marc Marshall and search dog Matt with Ffinlo navigating were enroute to the RV point when they were stood down.

Tuesday 21st August 2.00am

Request by the police to search the North of the island in the Ramsey Bay area for a person entering the sea.  Jim Macgregor and Star with Charlie Heap navigating and Marc Marshall and Matt with Ffinlo Williams navigating where tasked to search the beaches either side of the harbour walls.  Multiple searches were also carried out by the Coastguard and Coastguard Helicopter along with the RNLI.  Search dog Matt indicated on some discarded items of clothing and shortly after the lifeboat picked up the missing person from the sea where the casualty was transferred by ambulance to hospital.

Monday 23rd July 2.38am

The team received a phone call from ESJCR requesting two dog teams to deploy in the west of the island. Once at the RV point a plan was put together and one dog team headed to the first search area. Whilst en route news came in that the misper had been located. Both dog teams stood down.

Monday 25th June 21.38

A request was sent from the joint control room to search for a missing person in the Kirk Michael area.  Jim Macgregor and Star with Graham Steele navigating and Gary Wright and Holly with Ffinlo navigating were tasked with search a glen.  Once cleared the teams search the rock armour area of the beach when news came through the person had been located at Glen Moar Beach, 2 miles away by Police.  The team were stood down at 23.39.  This was a multi agency search with IOM Coastguard, IOM fire and rescue service, IOM Police and Civil Defence.

Thursday 7th June 19.20hrs

A request from the police to deploy a Dog team to the North of the island to assist in a multi agency search to try and locate a male from an RTA who had gone missing. Search Dog Star with handler Jim Macgregor and navigator Marc Marshall conducted an extensive search in the Sulby Bridge area. All teams were stood down at 22:00 pending further enquiries by the police.

Civil Defence called out the search dogs for a 13 year old missing male in the Douglas area.  Jim MacGregor with search dog Star and Phil Roriston navigating searched Pulrose golf course for 30mins when a message came through he had been located by the Police in a neighbouring area.

Police requested two dog teams to deploy to search for a missing person in the East of the island. Search dog Holly with handler Gary Wright and navigator Graham Steele and search dog Star with handler Jim Macgregor attended the call out.

After searching the area Jim Macgregor and search dog star located the misper this afternoon in Onchan. The misper was walked up to the road to police and transferred to hospital by ambulance.

Saturday 5th May 02.45hrs

Jim MacGregor and Star with Charlotte Heap navigating and Gary Wright with Holly and Marc Marshal navigating were tasked to search for a vulnerable missing person in the Douglas area.  Several areas were searched in difficult terrain while the Police, Coastguard and Douglas lifeboat were also searching.  Teams were stood down at 05.30hrs.  The missing person was located by Police the next morning on Douglas beach and evacuated to an ambulance by Douglas Coastguard.

Police requested a dog team to deploy to the north of the island to search for a high risk missing person. Dog handler Gary Wright with Search Dog Holly and navigator Marc Marshall searched for an hour before news came in that the misper has been located by Ramsey Coastguard.

Sunday 8th April 16.00hrs

Two dog teams deployed at the request of the Police to search open areas for a high risk missing person. After searching for about 45 minutes a call came in that the missing person had been located. Dog handler Gary Wright with Search dog Holly and navigator Charlie Heap and Dog handler Jim Macgregor with Search Dog Star and navigator Marc Marshall attended the call.

At the request of the joint control room and the police Handlers Jim macgregor and Star and Gary Wright and Holly were requested to search for a missing gentleman in Douglas.  The team were stood down en route  to the search area when the police located the gentleman.

Request from Police to search for a vulnerable 17 year old in the Onchan area. Gary Wright with Search dog Holly and Marc Marshal navigating  searched one area and were just about to start a second area when the mister was located.

Police requested SARDA to search the railway line area between Port st Mary and Port Erin for a misper.  Jim Macgregor and search dog Star with Marc marshal navigating were enroute to Port St Mary when the mister was located in the vicinity by a member of the public and the team were stood down.

Wednesday 8th November 20.10

Police requested two search dog teams to be deployed to Laxey to search for a vulnerable missing 57 year old lady.  While making our way to the RV point the lady was found and the teams stood down.

Monday 30th October 6.25am

Police requested two dog teams to deploy to an area on the mountain to search for a driver of a crashed car. Handler Jim Macgregor with search dog Star and navigator Johny Sayle, handler Gary Wright with search dog Holly and navigator Marc Marshall arrived on scene at 6.45am. Handler Jim located the missing person at the start of the search area in an outbuilding. Team stood down at 07.50am.

Tuesday 17th October 10.30am

Handlers Jim Macgregor with Star and Gary Wright with Holly, assisted by Marc marshal navigating were tasked with searching for a vulnerable male.  The search area was the grounds of the Nunnery in Douglas.  This was a multi agency search along with Civil Defence, Coastguard, Police and Douglas lifeboat.  At 11.40am both teams were stood down when the male was located outside the search area.

Monday 16th October 5.30am

Handlers jim Macgregor and Star and Gary Wright and Holly were tasked with searching 3 areas around Douglas for a missing male.  The teams were assisted by the Police as navigators.  Both teams were stood down at 7.00am after the male was located outside the search area.

Wednesday 20th September 18.49

Handler Jim with Mal navigating and search dog Star were tasked with searching a sand quarry near the point of Ayre.  This was a multiple agency search with police, fire service, coastguard and Civil Defence.  The 37 year old male had been involved in an RTC and was missing in the quarry area.  After an hour and twenty minutes the male was located by Civil Defence just outside the area tasked to SARDA and was taken by ambulance.

Wednesday 6th September 16.45

Handlers jim and Gary with Star and Holly and Marc navigating were deployed to search for two males missing after an RTC at conrhenny.  After a short time searching the plantation the teams were stood down after the males were located by the Police.

While taking part in a joint exercise with Civil Defence and the Fire Service the two dog teams were called out to search for a misper at Sandygate.  The teams were on standby for 2 hours at the RV point while further information came through.  The team were stood down when the gentleman was located in the south of the island by the police.

Monday 6th March (22.40)

The two dog teams were called out to search for a missing 81 year old in the Peel area.  While travelling to the RV the gentleman was found and the teams stood down.

19th February (13.45)

Handler Jim MacGregor with search dog Star,  with two members of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were tasked with search dense woods in Chorley for a missing 16 year old boy.  The team searched the woods for around 45 minutes before they were stood down when the misper was located outside the search area.

Request from the Police to search for a vulnerable male missing since the previous afternoon.  Jim Macgregor with search dog Star and Marc Marshal navigating were tasked with searching a housing estate in the Crosby area where he was last seen.  After a short time checking gardens the person was located by Police one street away and the team stood down at 1.30am.

Request for dog teams to be on stand  at RV point for injured walker above Ohio plantation in case needed as walker had given location to emergency services – stood down on route after walker located 

Wednesday 8th June (04.10)

Gary Wright with search dog Holly with Nigel Smith navigating were tasked to assist other emergency search teams to look for a missing driver from a road accident and believed to have suffered head injuries and left scene.

After searching the hillside below the gooseneck in the north of the island the driver was located by police in Ramsey and the team subsequently stood down and returned home for 8am

Wednesday 25th May (13.40)

Jim Macgregor & Star with Mal Stewart navigating and Gary Wright & Holly with Marc Marshal navigating were tasked to search for a vulnerable missing 15year old girl in the Onchan area.  Shortly after commencing the search the girl was located by the Police Dogs.

Saturday 20th February (13.00)

Gary Wright with search dog Holly and Marc Marshal navigating were tasked with searching for a vulnerable female missing in the Sulby area.  A police dog located the female and with Sarda’s assistance treated the lady until the ambulance arrived.

Saturday 6th February (13.15)

Gary Wright with search dog Holly and Marc Marshal navigating were deployed to look for a vulnerable missing male.  They were tasked with searching Laxey Head. After an hour searching the team were placed on standby when further information emerged.  The gentleman was located by Civil Defence in the West of the island.

Wednesday 3rd February (20.15)

Jim Macgregor/Nigel Smith and Star  with Gary Wright/Marc Marshal and Holly were called out to meet in the Glen Vine area for a missing 13 year old boy.  The team were stood down just after they arrived at the RV with the boy turning up safely elsewhere.

Friday 1st January (21.00 hrs)

At 21.00hrs Jim MacGregor and Search Dog Star with John Callow navigating were deployed to Ramsey Police station to be tasked with searching for a 19 year old missing male.  10km of roads from St Judes to Jurby and back were searched including buildings, farmland and ditches. The search was suspended at 3.00am with nothing found working alongside Civil Defence, Police, Coastguard and Fire service.

On Saturday 2nd January after the police received additional information that the missing person had entered the harbour and was not seen again the search became a recovery operation. Jim MacGregor and Search Dog Star with John Callow navigating searched from Ramsey to the point of Ayre with Gary Wright and Search Dog Holly with Marc Marshal navigating searched the beach in reverse.

On Sunday 3rd January both teams were deployed again on the 10km route but in reverse.  This concluded around 14 combined hours of searching by the teams.

Outcome = Missing person is still outstanding and nothing found

At 17.00 hrs Gary Wright and Search Dog Holly were deployed with the Police and Civil Defence to search for a female disorientated in the fog near Creg ny Baa.  After a short search SARDA found the lady and she was safely walked off the hill.

Wednesday, 18th November (00.05hrs)

Jim MacGregor and Search Dog Star with Mal Stewart navigating were involved in a multi agency search for a missing male on Douglas Head.  This involved Police, Civil Defence, Coastguard, Fire service, Coastguard helicopter and Lifeboat along with SARDA.

Outcome = After initially searching Douglas Head and being redeployed to Braddan cemetery the gentleman was located outside the search area.

Sunday, November 8th (7.00hrs)

Both dog teams were deployed to look for an elderly gentleman who had gone missing the night before.  The search area was Whitchurch on the Shropshire/Welsh border.  Both teams were in the area assisting with the SARDA Wales assessments.

Outcome = While waiting to be tasked at the RV point the gentleman was found.

Gary Wright and Search Dog Holly were deployed along the A55 while on an assessment weekend with SARDA Wales looking for a vulnerable adult.

Outcome = The team were stood down while en-route to the RV.

Friday, October 30th (20.00hrs)

Tasking was given from Lord Street Police station searching for a missing 21yr old male.  Gary Wright and Search Dog Holly with Mal Stewart navigating searched an area of Saddlestone and Jim with Nigel and Star searched an area near the Energy from Waste plant.

Outcome = After an hour of searching the areas the gentleman was located by the police.

Saturday, October 3rd (20.20)

Both search dog teams were deployed from Castletown police station to look for an elderly gentleman with dementia who went missing early in the evening.  The teams searched from opposite ends of Castletown Bay while the Coastguard helicopter was searching above.  The teams then continued to search the fields of the Scarlett area and grounds of CastleRushen High School.

Outcome = At 22.00hrs the gentleman was located by Civil Defence.

Monday, April 13th [21.00hrs]

Both search dog teams were deployed to search for a vulnerable female where her car had been located. After a short search of area, the lady was located by the dog teams and treated and transfered to ambulance via stretcher. We wish her a full recovery.
Good team effort with the Police, Civil Defence, IoM Man Fire and Rescue Service and Coastguard all working together and having a positive outcome.

Tasked to search Pulrose Golf course to search for a 37 year old male missing from home.  Jim MacGregor and Search Dog Star with Nigel Smith navigating were just being readied to be deployed when the misper turned up at their home address.

Saturday, April 26th [18.30hrs]

Asked by the police to assist in searching for a missing male in the area of Sulby Valley.  Jim MacGregor and Search Dog Star deployed with two police officers.

Outcome = stood down en-route when male located by police and arrested.

Sunday, March 30th – Wednesday April 2nd

Working with the inland search group and Isle of Man Coastguard Jim MacGregor and Search Dog Star with Gary Wright and Nigel Smith navigating were deployed to search for a lady who was missing from Niarbyll.  Consecutive searches over 4 days of coastal beaches and cliffs were carried out.

Outcome = articles of the lady were found on the beach with the lady still missing

Two girls aged 8 and 9 missing from Sulby area.  Jim MacGregor and Search Dog Star with Gary Wright navigating were deployed.
